Jack in the Pulpit by beryl

Jack in the Pulpit

This plant has beautiful variegated sword-like leaves in the Spring , as the summer comes along the leaves die back and these luscious looking berries develop. Very pretty to look at, but very poisonous !! They are only allowed to grow in one part of the side garden !
Nice except for the poison part!

They sure do look lovely, I hope the birds stay away ;-)

@ludwigsdiana - Funnily enough the birds take no notice of them , and neither did Alfie ( my little lakeland ) Although they are not growing in the main back garden where he used to roam freely !! Amazing how nature knows what to and what not to eat!

They grow throughout our woods here. I always love their curled tops shading Jack as he stands in the pulpit. Nice shot.

A nice capture and presentation of this brilliant berries! I sure didn't know they were poisonous, though! Amazing, as you say, Beryl, that nature knows to stay away. Fav
