How the mighty falls

On our walk in the Park , this large tree had been felled and the trunk just left in situ. It would make a lovely garden feature .

It would be nice to take home for the garden . Our local park has started leaving tree trunks around as well it must be some new strategy to attract wildlife.

Great nature shot, this will produce lots of bugs for the birds in winter Beryl. I put my large branches that I prune under bushes so they die down naturally and bugs, woodlice and other things hide, the birds have a meal in winter...

Like your title, I expect the trunk will now be home to many 100's of insects which in turn will attract the birds. Nice shot.

Great shot of the trunk. I use to keep them also in our garden. They make a good life, home and shelter for all kinds of wild live .
