As always… being curious I did a little googling…
It’s amazing to have everything at our fingertips…
If I had to go to the library and look up the detail in a encyclopaedia’s for sure I’d ’skip it’.
The teaspoon was in widespread use and modern size date back to the Georgian era.
The teaspoon is first mentioned in an advertisement in a 1686 edition of the London Gazette, teaspoons, and was probably of English origin, they were present on the 1700 Dutch painting by Nicholas Verkolje, "A Tea Party".
Also the Collecting of souvenir spoons became a popular hobby for Americans in the late 1800s
when this European fad swept the nation. Wealthy Americans visiting Europe brought home these mementos marked with the names of foreign cities and famous landmarks they had visited.
I’ve had these since mid 90’s… used everyday to share love and smiles… even when I’m alone.
