Are these rare now?

I went to pick up a parcel that hubby ordered as he was in Brussels, so I took a form of ID in case they asked. And he did so I got my driving licence out and he said Oh you have a paper one too! So I felt a little old .....Are these rare now?
Been busy again... yes you've guessed sewing :-) better than housework.

Sure are I think. My paper one was I such bad condition a hire company refused to accept it.

You mean a card driving licence? You would have to have one like that! Or a piece of paper?

I think that even if you have a new plastic card-style driving licence, you also need a paper one. They record endorsements on the paper one, but the plastic one is easier to carry about

I think in the UK you have to have both don't you....I have a card with my photo on but also a paper form which has to be produced on request.....shows how many points you have!!!!!

Interesting. I never knew you had a paper license in the UK. We only have the plastic one in the US.

ours are like a credit card here. MY first one was a wee book. You are supposed to hand them in when you get a new one but I managed to keep that one

They have chance them to a kind of credit cards now in our country.

I just had to switch mine into the credit card type before we went to Holland. But mine was from way back when, not even in different languages so. Here you are asked to exchange yours because the old ones expire in a few years time

I remember my grandmother telling me about these....
Not really, I have a paper one upstairs and the plastic one in the wallet. What a shock when I had to produce it for something and realised I hadn't seen it for years....
