Shortening suit jacket sleeve

Very productive day today as hubby was working doing a migration which takes around 14 hours so he managed to get a takeaway order on the company. We enjoyed Zizzi’s and Creams
So today busy in the sewing room
1. Dress taken in
2. Top stitch and barrack on top. Add a fabric to make a top 6 inches longer.
3. Take in and taper two pairs of trousers
4. Take in two jackets and shorten sleeves
5. Uploaded x 3 photos to EyeEm
6. X1 wash load done.
7. Text mum would she like to go to the gin show. Ordered tickets
Very productive day 😉

You're so clever! When Ellen used to dance I had to make her show costumes, but I was terrible at it.

@dh I’m sure they were very good, they are often difficult fabrics to work with. I tend to shy away from as my favourite work is tailoring. :-)

You are industrious, I wish I had that kind of energy. Nice sharp photo showing your accomplishments.

The fabrics were difficult and so were the styles. The costume designer was the ballet teacher's mother and she was a bit of a dragon. I'm sure she used to sit at home dreaming up the most complicated things she could think of. She would make an example and we had to work out how to copy it. Anyone who did it wrong was then publicly humiliated at the dress rehearsal. All the mothers were terrified of her.

Looks technical to me!

Nice shot. This brings back many memories for me as I worked in a men's clothing store for 12 years

The fabrics all look beautiful. I used to make lots of clothes, for me and the family, did my wedding dress etc. Then I gave the sewing machine away and felt liberated! Fav
