Had a walk to Bluewater this morning. Was rather hoping to hear from the hospital with a date for the op. But it’s a waiting game.
I’m terrified that I will not be able to use my hand fully even though I can move all my fingers and have all sensation in all fingers.
Concerned about recovery but the lady did say would be well on the way to recovery by 19th June when I go to Weymouth with my Mum.
I have been doing breathing exercises and also managed to get Propranolol from the doctor for my anxiety as I get freaked out by having an op. She did not want to prescribe anything and when I got all upset she said why are you crying…well stand in my shoes and you’ll understand why!!!
🤞 I’ll hear tomorrow but I expect I will get to know the date next week
Hope all goes well with the surgery. Don't worry you will be find. I had surgery to put in a plate and screws and was fine afterwards. I had to wear a brace for a few weeks but could still do most things while wearing that. I had exercises to do too but as long as you don't overdo things it will recover well. Take care
@onewing Thank you, trying to stay calm but extremely difficult. wish they would let me know the date but has to be done within next two weeks(done all pre test for ops last Friday so hoping a date next week
how soon could you use your DSLR camera again? I do have an Olympus which is lighter but not sure when my wrist will be able to cope with using a camera.
Curiuous as looking at booking a break away beginning of August.

@bizziebeeme I use a Lumix bridge camera and didn't have any problems holding that with one hand and holding it steady with the other. You will be fine, don't panic.
I don't use a DSLR camera generally, I use my phone and was able to use that straight after the operation however I did go overseas on an African safari with my DSLR only 10 weeks post surgery and managed fine.
@onewing thank you. I’m terrified but it comforting reading that I’ll be ok. 🤞I’ll get the appointment Tuesday (as Bank holiday Monday) for op that week but has to be done by 9th

I had the same experience as Babs when I broke my wrist.
