Continuing with the heritage theme. Canada is a nation that was built and continues to be built by people who immigrate from many different countries. This picture was taken in Oslo, Norway in 1928. My grandparents (on the right) are from Denmark and this was taken when they were on the way to Canada
This is wonderful--you are so lucky to have it! I love old family photos and met a "new" cousin when I posted a photo of my great grandmother on ancestry.com.
great photo...I too collect ancestor photos and love them. sometimes when I go to an antique shop and see old photos I buy them...very sad that the family did not value them...
My mantle is filled with family photos celebrating my ancestry. Unfortunately we don't have many of my husband's side. They truly are a wonderful connection to the past if we value them and know how they are connected to our present. How wonderful that you have this treasure!
did i say i love old photographs? i don't have any of my own family but my partner's mother was their family's historian and the old photographs that no one wanted i saved after she died. it's funny that i'm keeping photographs of people i don't even know but to me they tell the stories from a long time ago. good on you for keeping these treasures.
