Now let us make our way upstairs. As we get to the top we walk into the Sitting and Sewing Room. Mrs. Rutherford often sat here while having her afternoon tea or reading a book.
Mrs. Rutherford hired a local seamstress on a regular basis to make clothes for the family.

It makes more sense when I read your description. She "hired" a local seamstress to do the work. Boy they sure had a lot of space with all the large rooms. Great captures.
