Driving through Central Alberta on my way home. Stopped at a little town called Bentley. While walking through the cemetery I came across this view and knew I had to get a picture.
The colors of the Canola field with the green of the trees and the blue sky together provides such wonderful colors to enjoy.
Interestingly enough one of the people I am following, Lauren, took a very similar shot and I decided today that it would be neat to compare shots
yours have a totally different perspective than the other photograph so to make a comparison would not be quite fair. this is why i love to see other photographers' take on a scene i've shot. our eyes just see something quite differently from the other person's.
i'm so glad you didn't shoot this in black and white because then it would not have the same effect on the viewer if it was in b&w. i love the contrasting greens and the flowery shrub on the left gave it the perfect depth. thank you for this; it is beautiful.
@summerfield Your welcome. I knew that I had to show the colors in this one because that is what got my attention in the first place. Thank you for all your comments
It's quite beautiful! Yes, I agree the greens are lovely- it's a very peaceful scene. In some ways it reminds me of our state of Ohio- which has similar geography. I like the lighting too- a nice summery color indeed!
Howdy fellow Canadian. I live in Invermere BC - not too far from you. There's not many Canadians on here that I have found. Love your photo of the canola fields. My son lives in Strathmore on a huge farm, and I've done a couple photos shoots in the canola fields. They are absolutely spectacular!!
@mackena Hello to you too. Glad you enjoyed this one . I will have to start following your work. MY brother-in-law lives in Cranbrook so we do get out to BC once in a while
