The Year Was 1881

This one room school house is located in downtown Edmonton. It was the first school built outside of the fur trading post (Fort Edmonton). It was built in 1881. It is located near the exact location it once sat on.
Today it is part of the Edmonton Public Schools Museum and Archives. It is only opened a couple of days a week but it if free to the public. It is also a popular location for elementary school children to take field trips. It is located next to the McKay Avenue school built in 1904 to replace this one. (photo of that one back on June 24)
I was down here hoping to get a shot of the school in an autumn setting
and you got the autumn leaves and school really well, lovely colours and nice capture of the school
