A Little Hard Work Always Pays Off

I just learned recently that the City of Edmonton has a One Per Cent Art Policy included in their annual budget. This means that they take one per cent of the budget and designate it towards art projects in the city.
This is a painted glass window in one of the LRT Stations. It was done in recognition of all the labourers and wage earners who have worked over the years in North East Edmonton
very nice stained glass work, great pic.

Is it stained glass, or a painting on glass made to look like stained glass? Just curious. It's a really nice job and what a great way to keep the arts going in your city!

hmmmm...i should find out what we have here. this is a good project. years ago, they did that, but now most of the street arts have been defaced by punks and nobody's doing anything. well, such is life in the big city. i just might move to edmonton or ajax!

@summerfield It is interesting here in Edmonton we do have a problem with graffiti in the vandelism sense but art work like this they seem to leave alone
