Well with the festivals just a couple of days away I decided that I would take everyone on a short tour of Churchill Square. This is the heart of Downtown Edmonton. In fact one of the spots on the square is the geographical centre of the city itself.
So I thought what better place to start than with the man himself.
This statue of Churchill was unveiled on May 21 1989 by Churchill's daughter Lady Mary Soames. She returned on October 8 2004 to rededicate Sir Winston Churchill Square in honor of Edmonton's centennial celebrations as they looked at the past present and future of the city
ah the man himself. in high school, we read so much about mr. churchill. cool shot of the statue. there's one somewhere in toronto, too, i should go and take a shot of it.
