Wildrose Country

The provincial flower for Alberta is the Wildrose. These beautiful flowers can be found in an abundance in Edmonton. We came across these while walking through one of the many parks that are found along the river valley

Looks like a wild rose bush...my Father and Grandfather loved them. They had them in their gardens when I was growing up.

This beautiful flower reminds me of a song I'd learned on the piano many years ago (many many years ago!!)- Ode to a Wild Rose. I always imagined this kind of flower when I played it. Lovely shot Brian!

They reminds me of the beach roses that we have in Massachusetts - especially Cape Cod. Yours are a beautiful soft pink, while ours are more a deep rosy color.
