So I decided that since today's word was home why not stop off at the old warehouse district in downtown Edmonton. Most of the buildings are still standing and have found a new lease on life.
This is the Phillips Building wich was built in 1913 as a storage warehouse for the Western and Canada Cartage Company. They stored manufactured goods for distribution in northern Alberta.
In 2001 in underwent major renovations and today is home to a number of people as the Phillips Lofts.
I particularly like the old sign on the top of the building showing off one of the tenants that ran a business in this building.
what jumps out to me in this photo is the Weight Watchers sign...you know with us having Thanksgiving tomorrow and all...very timely shot for us from the USA!!!! I will TRY to be good...maybe!
lol I thought you were going to tell us you joined Weight Watchers! Boy was I unobservant on this shot! I love it when the old buildings find new life rather than get torn down. Nice shot Brian!
Old buildings always have found many new lease on life. It`s often show and that`s why people love them.We have them to back to the year 1200 and less. Great capture and a wonderful story
