Snow removal by bkbinthecity

Snow removal

So on my way home today as I got of the bus downtown I turned down the Fourth Street Promenade which is the old warehouse district. There was a crew of men out removing the snow on the sidewalk. They were doing a great job of building up some rather large piles of snow. Not sure what they were going to do with it from here but I did think that the piles lined up theyway they were made for a nice shot
It makes a wonderful shot Brian, especially in black and white.

I love snow...when it is fresh and natural...after a few days...especially in the city...it turns brown and messy...but this looks great still on the bench and all piled up

January 23rd, 2013

January 24th, 2013
@archaeofrog We have piles of huge snow here as well. In fact a couple of years ago we had so much snow that it was still here in August. Check out the shot of our Snow Mountain I posted it on Aug 30 2011

January 24th, 2013
I like the perspective here. love how you captured this moment in time.
January 24th, 2013
It looks great in B&W. I guess they just wanted to leave room for people to walk?
January 24th, 2013
I like the B&W.
January 24th, 2013
Nice shot Brian!...at least they were clearing the sidewalks!
January 24th, 2013
@hjbenson Thanks Harry
January 25th, 2013
@ellen Thanks Ellen Glad you liked this one
January 25th, 2013
@bella_ss Well we have a by-law here that requires people to clean their sidewalks 48 hours after it stops snowing
January 25th, 2013
@nadaa That was Melody's idea
January 25th, 2013
@lynnb Well they have to have the sidewalks cleaned within 48 hours of the last snowfall or they can face a fine
January 25th, 2013
@bkbinthecity I always think that's funny, because the city doesn't have to have their sidewalks or streets done in that time!
January 25th, 2013
and then we wake up and this is the nightmare! hahaha! more snow for you, more snow for us. snow everywhere!
January 26th, 2013
@lynnb Don't even get me started on that subject
January 28th, 2013
@summerfield It would be nice to wake up to a wonderful dream instead of this nightmare
January 28th, 2013
I like this. Nice street shot, even if it's sporting a very narrow view. Nice choice of b&w, too.
January 30th, 2013
@bankmann Well I really was focusing on the sidewalk and the b/w was my wives idea
January 31st, 2013
Cool shot. It looks great in B&W and gives the impression that it could have been taken decades ago. I love timeless photos.
February 1st, 2013
@pasadenarose Well I have to give credit to my wife for the b/w idea
February 2nd, 2013
Well then, it's obvious that you should always listen to your wife. ;-)
