Today was a busy day it seemed we did a whole lot of running around, okay we did not actually run, but we did put on over 100 kilometres driving around Edmonton and the surrounding area. So at one point we decided it was time to stop for a nice little treat. I can not remember the last time I had a nice good old fashioned Root Beer Float and A & W make one of the best
They used to be such a popular chain here in the US but I rarely see them now! The sound of it- root beer float- just makes me want one-even though I'm not really a fan of root beer! lol I did like cream soda though. Now it's just ginger ale.
Love, love A&W root beer floats! Don't have A&Ws in our area anymore, for some reason. So we get them to our heart's delight when we visit my family in Three Hills, Alberta, (also Calgary, Red Deer, and Edmonton areas!!) usually once a year! So here at home we get bottles of A&W, some ice cream, and make our own.... Mmmm! that looks so good.
Fun shot. My son's choice for his 9th birthday dinner was A&W! No one in our family likes root beer though except my husband. Don't you just love their frozen mugs!?
Love A&W! Great nostalgic shot for a lot of us-- the root beer float is a classic! YUM :) BTW--the A&W restaurants the USA do not compare to the Canadian ones! We were very surprised. They call the burgers different names-- no burger family there! No teen burger or papa burgers. We tried it once and it was awful --- never again!
i love root beer and yes, i agree with you 500% that A&W makes the best root beer float - that's my favourite when i was in high school! love how you captured the sweat on the glass. really looks refreshing. great shot, brian!
Love this! Gotta be a fav for me because it's making my mouth water and bringing back memories. No idea they still had places like this around. I have a 'baby' size A&W mug. I'll have to bring it out and try to do something creative with it. (It's much too small for a float.)
@bkbinthecity You are absolutely right, Bob! I should just do that...I remember how much I did enjoy them! Who cares about the calories now at this age! LOL
I must follow you...Your photo's make me home sick! born in Calgary grew up in Vancouver...live in L.A. for many years now. This shot took me so back I can't even tell you. I am dying for a root beer now and it's 5:56 a.m.
Never had one here , guess we're nort a root beer country.
