So while on Sunday while we were in Calgary we decided to go for a drive. As we were on our way to destination we happened to come across a couple of old buildings. So of course we had to go and take a closer look. One of them was this Catholic church, St Mary's Cathedral. I could not find a date stone on the building, however the building across the street which belonged to the church was built in 1904. So tomorrow we can take a look at the Parish Hall
So interesting reading about it (google again!) It began as a sandstone church in1889 but in 1955 they demolished it for some reason. It was opened in 1957. Really impressive building!
@lynnb Yes they are In this case I just found out from Maggiemae @maggiemae that the congregation started in 1889 and this is the second church building they built
@bkbinthecity The one thing I have not been able to do is go inside a church and take photos. We do not have many here that are unique though I have not explored the Sacramento area. I hope to one day when my son or husband have time to take me.
