On my way in to work today I made a quick stop to take a picture of this house. It is on the historic registries B list. This means that the owners can receive funding for renovations but it is not protected from being torn down.
This one has been empty for a while now and is now slated for demolition. I always find it sad when older homes can not find a new owner and a new lease on life
always hate to see these old historic homes (and other buildings) that have such architecture and history torn down. I hope someone will save this one. If it's torn down what will go into its place? More condos or apartments, huh!!?
that is just sad. every time i see something like this, it really makes me wish i'd win the lottery so i can buy it and have it restored. i hope someone saves it.
Oh dear what a great shame no one wants it...looks rather beautiful with character.....it won't be worth anything pulled down or will the owner sell the land for development perhaps?
@bkbinthecity I agree! And they'll also tear out all the beautiful old trees too. Wish builders would leave some of the full grown trees on property when they build..... They add so much character and charm..... as well as shade.
true; especially this one as it looks very warm and snuggled in around the trees with an inviting front porch and lovely scrollwork under the roofline.
