Church Street by bkbinthecity

Church Street

Located in the McCauley nieghbourhood of Edmonton is a section that runs for about seven blocks known as Church Street. The reason for this is that there is a church on every street corner. Some of them have been there since the early 1900's.
This one is Ansgar Danish Lutheran Church. It was built in 1942 by the congregation that had been renting another facility for the previous 12 years when they raised enough money to build their new church. It continues to be a vibrant part of the community to this day
Another great capture with such a great commentary.

Glad to hear they are being used! Too many of our churches are sold and become domestic dwellings!

July 30th, 2013
@archaeofrog Actually there are two trees, you can just see a little of the second one, and they were planted by the Pastor of the church as gesture to remember his two children. His son was hit by a car and his daughter fell out of the second story window. They both survived and in his gratefulness to the Lord he planted the trees the year this happened
