Hard at Work by bkbinthecity

Hard at Work

Today's word was labour/work so I went with this shot. The city is in the process of building a new bridge to replace one that is 100 years old. Along with that they are also building a new road that leads from the south side down to the river bank. I thought it would be nice to try and capture some of the work going on. The reason it is in b/w is due to the fact that prior to this I had taken a shot in b/w and then forgot to change the setting.
Well back to work tomorrow after having Monday off.
Great b&w for the word...Hope ou had a great Labor Day! Nice shot!

great shot and even better in black and white

I think the b&w works well for the building site even if it was unintentional. The photo is divided nicely in to thirds.

Should be interesting to follow this construction, Brian. Hope you had a good weekend!

Nice in B&W, Glad I'm not the only one who does things like that with the camera.... like -- today I took my camera out to find a 365 shot and hadn't put the card back in after taking it out and downloading photos earlier in the afternoon. DUMB!!! (First time for that; hope it's the last!)

Terrific shot for the word of the day.

B&w lends a solidity and permanent sort of feel which matches the big machines and hopefully the building. Nice wide shot.

September 6th, 2013
it would be nice if you can make a follow up shot every now and then until the bridge and road are completed. i used to not like black and white, but these days i like them. next thing you know, you should be doing selective colouring process. :-)
September 6th, 2013
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann
September 7th, 2013
@summerfield The selective colouring is something I have never done yet. I will certainly be keeping an eye on this spot
