A Christmas Break by bkbinthecity

A Christmas Break

Edmonton has a number of outdoor skating rinks. This one is down at the Legislature Grounds and is a nice spot for families to take a bit of a break
Looks like a popular location. Just can't imagine what it is like with all that ice and snow.

This is a great shot and makes my heart stir. I live in Oregon, but grew up and lived in Minnesota till I was 33. We went ice skating all the time as children and then again when I had children. I miss is terribly but to ice skate in Oregon it means going over the mountains or to an indoor rink in a different city and that is something I would do just to ice skate with other priorities in my life.

Fun action shot - you even captured the snow as it's coming down. Here, no snow for us - it's all gone! Melted and all we see now is brown and grey, but I'm sure we will get snow again.
