Currently there is a military memorial, honouring the Canadian soldiers that died while serving in Afghanistan, on a 20 city tour in Canada. It is in Edmonton at the moment and on display at city hall.
So I made my way down there after work to have a look. It really is an amazing memorial. The picture on the left shows the plaques with photos and info on each soldier. The shot in the middle is a Canadian Flag and a set of bagpipes that were used in the final ceremony in Afghanistan. On the far right is a book with a write up of each soldier killed.
Tomorrow I will show off some of the photos they have on display there as well.
This display will also be making a stop in Washington DC before finding a permanent home in Ottawa
What a wonderful tribute to those Canadian soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice. How wonderful that they have put it on display and you had the opportunity to see it and take photos. Nicely done, Brian.
