First let me thank all of you for your great comments over the past couple of days.
Recently friends of ours closed their store at West Edmonton Mall. They owned a novelty gift store and were in business for nearly 40 years. They decided it was time to retire. Their last day was Wednesday. Tonight I saw some workers setting signage in place. This tells shoppers that an exciting new store is coming soon.
Have a great weekend everyone. Melody's brother and sister-in-law are in town for a few days so I will try and get caught up with my comments and replys soon enough
Bittersweet, it's always out with the old and in with the new. The picture really makes sense with the background story. It's too bad there wasn't something left visible from the old store that was being covered up by the workers to capture that idea of change.
It's better to know they retired as losing the business due to larger stores taken over. so let's see what's coming next. I had to look twice to see the guy walking by right in front of the advertisement.
Nice capture. We see a lot of storefronts like this in our local malls these days too. Glad your friends just decided to retire and not closing because of lack of business.
Oh, I like this. I like how the people (both real and on the signage) stand out against the plain background, and I like the contrast between the very large signage people and the relatively smaller real people. It's a really interesting capture!
