Today we attended another memorial service. George was not only a friend but a volunteer at Marketplace Chapel. He served as a volunteer for over 17 years. George faithfully came every Thursday and sat behind the desk to greet those who came through the doors. He would talk with anyone but he particularly loved to pray with people. Even in the last year of his life when health issues made it to hard to sit at the desk he still came every Thursday and for his four hour shift he would take all of the prayer requests that had come in and he would take the time to pray for each individual request personally
George was born in China in 1938. His parents were missionaries there. In 1940 the family made a move to Argentina and he was raised in Buenos Aires.
When he was married and with a family of his own they moved to Canada.
Here he became a mechanical engineer. He had a great interest in aviation as well as hunting and camping.
It is his love for the great outdoors that I post this picture as a tribute to him.
This is the canal wetlands in southern British Columbia. Thank you George for a lifetime given in service to The Lord and to so many people whose lives you touched
Lovely tribute to George and sorry for you loss as well as all the others that he prayed for. With his record, he will continue to do so in heaven I am sure. FAV
