Changing Times

Pictured here is the old Charles Camsell Hospital. It was built in 1964 replacing the original building from 1913. In 1992 the Charles Camsell merged with the Royal Alexandra Hospital and in 1996 it closed its doors.
A few years ago one of Edmonton's leading architects purchased the building with plans to convert it into condos.
Eventually it will be home to 161 units ranging in size from 800 to 1200 square feet.
It is certainly nice to see this building be given a new lease in life
It has a history. looks great with the sun shining on it and the white stuff around it.

I love the snowy photo with the sun on the windows. What a lovely condo tower it will be.

I'm sure the condos will be lovely - I wouldn't mind owning one! Glad the building is being repurposed. You certainly know a lot about the history of the buildings in your area. Always very interesting.

It's always good when a building finds a new lease in life over being torn down. Nice collage!

The only only constant in the life of a city is change! This is a good change to see!

Great to here it will be used. The hospital where I work moved 4 years ago they are redeveloping the old hospital, but tore it down. The royal Victoria hospital in Montreal also moved and they haven't figured out what to do with the huge space yet. It is currently functioning as an emergency homeless shelter.
