A striking landmark on Whyte Avenue since 1903. On the ground floor was the lobby, dining room and a beer parlor. With the beginning of Prohibition things changed. The ground floor was leased out to retail businesses and the upper floors became apartments and individual boarding rooms.
In The 1980's the interior was completely renovated and the building continues to be a vital part of Whyte Avenue
That building has some fantastic "gingerbread" embellishments. It's good that it's been used throughout the years and even changed to accommodate the times. Nice shot.
