On my way home from work in West London an hour ago, I stopped for a diet coke. I had to ask the shop owner if I could take a photo as it reminded me of when I worked in an offie 20 years ago and there was another world cup.
It was before the supermarkets took a large part of the sales and a couple hours before kick-off, there was a queue out the door of blokes buying literally crates of beer.
I remember one guy buying his and then he came back 10 mins later and bought a solitary can of cider "for her indoors" was how he put it. Who says romance is dead? Lol.
Just flicked over on the tv.. and its England 1, USA 1 so far.... and this will be the last footie related pic I put up unless England make it into the final!! I must admit tho, although I dont follow football, its been a nice atmostphere in London this afternoon :-)
Hehehe, we will see, but sorry I have to cross my fingers for Switzerland. It is a pity that a lot of our best players are insured and the first match is vs Spain .........
I like this shot. You won't find anything close to this in the US. Yesterday my husband was at the store and a woman saw the England flag on our car and asked him "is it England day today or something??" He explained that the US were playing England today and confirmed yes, he meant soccer. "Oh," she said "where is that being played??"
Ha, ha. Got another for you Freida--yesterday a woman at work asked me "Who's that soccer player that married Posh Spice?" me: "David Beckham." Her: Yes, him. Did he play for the US last weekend?
