Is this a British thing?
I love the humble milk bottle.. and they used to be on most people's doorsteps. I guess with supermarkets popularity this is dwindling. This is the first place I have lived in 14 years where they would deliver..
I grew up with the millkman delivering milk early every morning, and my Mum trying to beat the birds to it as they'd peck the top to get the cream.
Completely mucked around with.. am still not sure if I like my images so heavily processed.
Like this shot a lot, it is not common in our area to deliver bottled milk but when I was small I read a short story about delivering milk and I really wanted that too :)
I really like the processing here!! And the milk bottles are so cute!! I remember when we went to London, that was one of the things that impressed me - milk, being delivered to your doorstep! It's great that you live in an area where they still do that! ;-)
this is a fun shot - I've always had milk delivered to the doorstep ever since we moved to this village - I'd never really thought about it before but I suppose it is fairly uncommon now - you've given me an idea - maybe I'll take a picture of my bottle of organic semi-skimmed in the morning - don't think I'll get it to look as good as this though!
Nice shot, and I love your memories of the birds pecking through the lids...! We had a milkman when I was little (and an eggman, and a breadman!), but I don't know of anywhere in Ohio we can get milk delivered anymore.
I think this is a fantastic shot, editing and all. :) I love how each bottle is slightly different to the next. I miss when milk was delivered in glass bottles! But I haven't seen it in maybe 15 years.
When I was a teenager we still had milk delivered to our doorstep in glass bottles. You could get yoghurtand cream in a bottle too. My mum remembers ice cream also being delivered by the milkman. Then the whole thing became uneconomic for the milkman and he disappeared. Sad really I miss the glass bottles with the foil lids- different colours for different kinds of milk. Plastic is just not the same plus it doesnt make the same clink sound when its put into your metal holder.
I absolutely LOVE that you're in a place where theres a milkie again. And I love this shot too esp the off centre full bottles.
oh my gosh!!! This must be a European thing because when I lived in Germany there were milke bottles like these...brings back good memories. There was a milk man (which we dont have here in the U.S.) and he always gave us a piece of candy when he dropped by :) :)
It turend out great. Some time it is hard to stay objective after looking at a picture during the processing for quit a long time. Put it away for a few month and then look at it again. You will know immediately wether you like it or not.
we still have milk delivered! have done my whole life. Although now the poor lil milkman only comes every other day as nobody uses it any more :-( stupid supermarkets!
Stunning shot. Milk deliveries stopped in Queensland when I was a child however there is a clever young chap who has started a little business of delivering milk and bread in certain areas of Brisbane. I think he will have a good little business on his hands.
Simply gorgeous! I've never had milk bottles delivered, but really wish I could. Does it taste as good as it sounds and looks? Really awesome shot and I love the processing on it. *fav*
Instantly started singing that old advert jingle "Milk has gotta....lotta bottle...",
I used to love the sound of the electric milk floats cruising the streets as I dragged my gin-soaked self home in the wee small hours as a young 'un.
I love the processing, not over-cooked at all.
Several years ago, there were still places in the North East US that had milk bottles, at least in the store that we stopped at. I remember the insulated box that was on the door stoop where the milk was left.
In elementary school, I did the last day of milk bottle collection as students left the cafeteria, the next day, it was the paper cartons into a waster can.
Oh, and the milk bottles are way better than those plastic cartons you get milk in at the supermarkets....

"I wish the milk man would deliver my milk, in the morning." (Aphex twin)
