Using filler pics until I move now, just too much to do. Why is I always underestimate how much work involved?! Carpet cleaners due today.
This is a picture of Barry Adamson, a member of 'Magazine' from a gig in Manchester about 16 months ago. I always loved this group and was so happy they reformed and toured, and even happier that I managed to get a press pass for one of the two nights I saw them, by grovelling loads to their management!
Magazine are a post-punk group who were originally around in 1977-1981. The singer, Howard Devoto, left punk band The Buzzcocks in 1977 to form Magazine, who were much more experimental. I listened to them from the age of about 14, when I nabbed my brother's record. I did that a lot, and he shaped the music taste I have today.
Gig photography is my all-time fav type of photography. Its exciting, and its very rewarding. The lights and the folk are constantly changing and moving, so when I get a pic I like, its a good buzz.
Dude, this is an awesome pic, perfect lighting and mood (not easy at a gig) and as for the moving thing -good luck - I hate moving I swore when I finally bought my home and moved in, the next move I did, it would take only one box - and I'd be in it.
It is a great photo. The photo is very clear and I like how there is minimal light in the background. Lucky you to get into see the band, be part of the press and get a great picture.
Yep, worthy of a "buzz". This kind of photography always amazes me. Seems like it would be difficult fighting with all the varying light and movement. Great shot!
