Meet Herman the German! Or also known as Tortie and Tutankhamun over the years.
This little fella belonged to my other half's sister, who she got in 1972. We popped to see the in-laws in London on saturday after I left the flat and I took the photo of Herman, noshing his lunch then. He didnt hang around too long, it was so hot that day and it wasnt long before he was back under the hedges seeking shade.
He's at least 38-39 years old, and is not even half way through his life, mad huh?

Turtles seem to have so much mystery about them, they don't seem to make any sound, carry their house around with them, and have a pretty long life span.Nice capture shot of this one.......tony
