Stripping the wallpaper from the spare room as it badly needs redecorating, but took 30 mins out to go into the garden to photograph a purple flower for today's day against homophobia.
I think people are becoming more accepting, I just look at my parents views on this *shudder* compared to mine and my friends, but I guess the day people genuinely dont care if someone is gay or not is a while off yet. For me its not about tolerance, its about it not even being an issue in the first place.
This is one of the best sketches on gay tolerance I know, 'straight is the new gay'. Its by my fav comedy stand-up, Steve Hughes and I've seen him a couple times live. This sketch isnt for the under 18 or the delicate tho! You've been warned! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in9SiDtJLaU
Thankyou for the kind comments yesterday, was feeling pretty blue, so thankyou for taking the time to write.
so delicate and pretty. and an issue I was just talking about the other day. I agree- and thank you for addressing the issue! Can't wait to watch teh comedy sketch (better not pull it up on the work computer though ;-)
This is beautiful and your commentary is so true. Who someone else chooses to love has no bearing on my life, and it only matters that they are happy with their choice of partner.
Very pretty! I love purple. It is the color chosen to represent Mental Illness/Health awareness. I have worked in a residential mental health facility for 35 years and it is another "issue" that needs more general awareness... not exactly worded correctly but...you know what I mean.
