So beings the Autumn wind down for Herman, ready for hibernation. Involves a worming meds meal followed by a month of no food as they're not supposed to hibernate with food in their tummies. Baths every other day and on the odd sunny day, a bit of a walk to stretch the legs.
She has a 3 month nap, sometimes 4 depending on the weather and we get a few months off from being a tortoise mum & dad. Phew.
Oh my god I adore him. Look at that face. Who do I love best - Lucy or Herman??! We met our friends' tortoise Bolt (named after Usain) recently. They are such characters.
