Congratulations to Beau for winning the Communication theme last week amongst some really strong entries. Beau has kindly chosen us a theme for this week, we'll start first thing Monday with "Tones". Below are a few words from Beau about what he'd like to see in your photos.
Thanks so much. I'm truly honored. Though undeserving compared to all the other great captures. For the next theme, I chose "Tones"
By definition, Tone in photography is the differences between light and darkness, closely associated with Contrast. But it's not that easy, as it also represents the level of color, which is associated to luminance and saturation. In overall terms, it means the feeling the lighting represents. A lighter, more colorful overall tone gives the impression of happiness, humor, where as a darker, more brooding tone gives the impression of sadness, mystery....etc. Let's see how you represent the emotion of your photo through tone.
How to enter
If you wish to enter the theme this week, please tag your photo (on the edit/organise screen) with the tag theme-tones.
Entry Guidelines
Entry to this theme starts on Monday 16th February and will accept entries until Sunday night (23:59 GMT 22nd February). 5 finalists will be chosen next week and we'll start voting on Wednesday. Entries must have been taken and uploaded within the time frame only! Entries outside of the date range will not be accepted in to the final 5.
