I went back this morning to the site where I spotted all the Bald Eagles yesterday and found 2 had returned to finish off the deer carcass for breakfast. When I opened my car door they both took flight but this one circled around and came back ... I shot this just as he was about to land on the carcass again. The other one was a Bald Eagle, the one pictured here is either an immature Bald Eagle or a Golden Eagle....not sure which. I just assumed the mottled brown ones I saw yesterday were Golden Eagles but my husband suggested they might also be young Bald Eagle
Thanks to all who commented on yesterdays photos....no need to comment again on the eagles I post today...they're mostly for my own documentation purposes and hey, there's only so much you can say about bird pictures! :)
I haven't been able to spend much time here the last couple of days but hopefully II'll have a chance to catch up on some viewing and commenting shortly!
As an afterthought I decided to tag this for the hope theme this week. The beauty that Mother Nature provides, including these magnificent birds can lift the spirit, feed the soul and brighten an otherwise dismal day, thus giving hope...to me anyway!
This one got all smooshed up...best viewed with the magnifying glass!
Oh wow Paula. Such a great bird to photograph for this theme. We should all be allowed to spread our wings like the eagle.... and soar to happiness. This is simply stunning!!!
