This was taken this afternoon on the way back from school....I spotted 2 Bald Eagles in the field dining on a deer carcass. They stayed for a few minutes and then flew over to the park across the road so we followed them over there. After 45 minutes or so we went back to where we orignally spotted them and there were probably 6 or 8 Bald Eagles near the carcass this time....several of them were juvenile birds with mottled brownish and white plumage and minus the white head. A great day for me....I feel like this is a really special treat to see so many of these magnificent birds for such a long period of time.
As an afterthought I decided to tag this for the hope theme this week. The beauty that Mother Nature provides, including these magnificent birds can lift the spirt, feed the soul and brighten an otherwise dismal day, thus giving hope...to me anyway!
What a capture, Paula. I love the eagle against the texture of the corn field. I'm working backwards so I just viewed your other shot. What a day you had.
