These always remind me of autumn and making paper lanterns when I was little! From end of October onwards children back at home in Germany would make their own paper lanterns and go on lantern parades around the neighbourhood - when I was little we even used real candles inside...could you imagine that these days?!

Great shot. I like the color and the detail. I made paper lanterns when I was a kid. My mother did not let me put a candle inside one, even though I begged her to let me do so.
@pwallis Paula, they are called Chinese Lantern Plant (go figure...) or Physalis. My mum used to have them in the garden. she posted these last year but the colour is starting to fade now, they've been on display so long.
