Thank you all for the wonderful comments and favs on my last two posts. I promise I will finally catch up on all your fabulous pictures and comments today - it's been a long week! Have a wonderful weekend everyone :-)
Stopped off at three different locations on my way home from work last night, went for a walk along the river Blyth trying to capture the electricity pylons (will have to find a better spot), met two cute Westies and their owner, got travelling tips from the owner of said dogs, and finally made it to North Shields to capture my first night-time shot of the harbour and lighthouse...The things we get to do for 365 - just wonderful! Quite pleased with my first attempt. Things to remember - LEARN YOUR MANUAL SETTINGS, set ISO to 100 and don't drop any of your kit in the dark ;-)
Wonderful shot, I have yet to really try night shots and this is inspirational. May I ask, why ISO 100? I get the bit about not dropping your kit in the dark:-)
@clarek I took some with ISO on automatic setting and the camera took them at ISO 1200 - although the quality is still good, you can see the grain a bit. With ISO 100 they looked much sharper and smoother.
thank you so much for the comments :-) I only have a table top tripod and it was perched on the pointy (!!) top of this stone wall - still not quite sure how the camera stayed that way, but I held on to the neck strap for dear life ;-)
