Testing the Water

Catching up on my weekend shots...After a wonderful day and evening with my friends on Saturday I had to get myself out of bed a little too early for a Sunday and go into work for a few hours - feel free to boo and hiss at this stage ;-)

It had been a wonderfully sunny and snowy morning but by the time I came out of work the snow had all but disappeared. Even on the hills the sun was too strong. Went for lunch at the Rendezvous Cafe in Whitley Bay instead (http://365project.org/bmnorthernlight/365/2011-10-02) - no rendezvous though - and a wander on the beach. Lots of families and dog walkers out and about enjoying the unusually mild and sunny Sunday afternoon. Loved how this little boy was so engrossed in his play with the waves that I got my own feet wet :-D

Edited both shots differently and not quite sure how effective it's been. Any feedback happily received!

Can I just say what a fabulously incredible bunch of people you are!! Thanks so much for all your time to view and comment and fav on my shots! It does cheer me up no end and spurs me on every day :-)

I really like the tones of this one. Almost feels metalic. Nice processing.

Boo/Hiss:0) I like the reflection on the other one better, however his total enjoyment in this shot is fabulous.

Also lovely, the tones and colours are gorgeous in both, but I have a special soft spot for blues....

Boo-Hiss!
They are both wonderful - a kid enjoying the water and running away from the waves is classic! I think I like the light in this one more but they are both smashing!

he does look as if he's having fun, the reflection is great - this is more about a portrait of the little boy, the other about the beach as the biggest focus

I think i prefer this one. It feels like its telling more of a story & i like the slightly more 'natural' looking sea.
