Due to the traffic and the weather opted for a detour to St.Mary's lighthouse instead of fireworks to see out the old year.
Pitch black and bloomin' freezing! Due to the high tide got caught by one of the cross-waves on the causeway. My back got a bit of a new year's dip but on the plus side the camera bag IS shower proof and my back sheltered the camera from the worst...
@bb Thanks so much! I had to lighten this quite a bit in Raw, but quite pleased how it turned out. Not sure what the trick is other than a good tripod (and I've used a table top one for a lot of mine) and a long exposure time.
Beautifully captured, lovely colours!!You certainly did get caught out by the high tide, there's not even a rock in sight.Know the "light" so well, spent y childhood near there.Spent many a happy time rummaging i the rock pools, and climbing to the top of the light( when it was still in use).
@carolmw thank you Carol! I don't think I ever went there at high tide before so it was a new perspective for me. You must have great memories of the place. I am really glad it is still a special place for many people now and you often spot them rummaging in the rock pools too!
Absolutly fab + fav!
