Every year the maple trees and this park are tapped for syrup. There are many of these buckets around the park. What comes out looks and tasted like water. They boil it down to about 66% and it turns to a delicious sweet syrup. I have no idea how they know when it's at 66% 😊
Fabulous close up of these lovely textures. We love maple syrup on hotcakes and find it fascinating how it is harvested and made. Just costs a darn fortune here, but we buy it anyway ;-)
This is the time of the year in Vermont too. Unfortunately more and more people are using the ugly blue and green hoses from the trees to the ugly white plastic tanks to collect the sap.
