Egyptian limestone owl 332-30 BC. At the Hieroglyphs: Unlocking Ancient Egypt exhibition at the British Museum. Ends Sunday, so was a last minute decision to book tickets and go today. Excellent exhibition, especially if you like languages and code-breaking. Fun fact - ancient Egyptian for cat was mioew....
Middle part of a particularly busy non-working day. Zumba in the morning and a rush into town for the exhibition. After, we grabbed a pizza in the Italian café in Russell Square - serviceable if not great - before battling rush hour tubes to get home.
Last part of the day was a session in an Enfield pub that Frankie had told me about last week. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was enjoyable. Quite small - only a handful of us - but a good mix of tunes and even some polka and jig dancing.
Nicola Sturgeon resigned today and Raquel Welch died.
Great capture of this item at the exhibition. Fascinating to think of how old it must be. Funny to think of you at that cafe on Russell Square - we had a coffee and breakfast croissant there a week past Sunday when we were in London! And yes, that's Wee Knickers off to do other things. I wonder what and possibly more worrying, I wonder who will replace her? Ah, and Raquel Welch. :-(
@jamibann ha ha - all that area is Dave's old stamping ground - he lived in the Brunswick Centre, was all council flats then but of course has been somewhat chi-chified now!
