Our tipples of choice at the pub. Start of a very busy weekend. And was anxious as the plumbers were going round to the flat to do the work.
Up early to pick up shopping for mum at Sainsbury's. She was feeling better this time so the outing was on. We drove over to leave her shopping, fix her toilet roll holder and umm and aah about swapping her hoover with ours.
Time ran away with us so we got into the car to drive to St Alban's, parking in the private space I'd booked via Just Park, the multi storeys looking bleak.
Finally got a chance to try out mum's new wheelchair - we wheeled her to the market, getting used to the idiosyncrasies of the chair and the pavement environment.
Market was fun, mix of everything, normal town Saturday market but other bits and pieces too. Mum bought nice angora gloves and olives. To the Wicked Lady after for a very good pub lunch. Big airy pub north of the town. Shared starters, then salad for mum, celeriac steak for Dave and sea bass for me. Shared mini puddings after.
Took mum back where I changed for my next adventure. Dave then dropped me off at Claire's so we could go on to J and P's wedding (fellow ceilidh band mates) where we were playing a ceilidh.
Early enough to hear the speeches sitting outside the big tipis and enjoy a gin and tonic. Beautiful day started turning cool and a lovely moon rose, quite magical.
Soundchecked then played 2 sets with a food break on between (3 jackfruit bap buns and cake, naughty). Guests had a wild time and even though I couldn't hear myself sandwiched between the drums and louder boxes, so did we all.
Stayed a bit for the disco after and cheese before Claire drove me and Spencer back to Crouch End where I got an Uber home, arriving at 1am to find Dave sound asleep.
Plumbers didn't manage to finish, need more piping apparently.
