Dick Whittington's cat by boxplayer

Dick Whittington's cat

My niece's are growing up - lovely girls they are (the two on the right). Here admiring Dick Whittington's cat - the sculpture on the site at the bottom of Highgate Hill where Dick Whittington heard Bow Bells telling him to turn back, 'Turn again Whittington, thrice Lord Mayor of London'. There was a Dick Whittington who was three times mayor. It's a true story you know.

We had a jolly day mooching about the Highgate spring fair - really nice stalls of stuff and food and entertainers.

This reminds me of my gran - I used to pass this everytime we went to visit her and when she was in hospital at the Whittington we used to walk past it! fond memories!!

@boxplayer Oh blimey, she'd been in and out of there for years! She first had a hip replacement about 30 years ago and then lots of cardio stuff proabably between 2000 and 2007. My Great-great uncle spent lots of time in there too eons ago when he had his leg amputated after the war!

Well 30 years ago she might have knocked into my mum - she retired about 15 years ago.
