Everyone's got it now. Tickets are like gold dust, and more gold medals today with Andy Murray beating Federer (that must have felt good) and for Ben Ainslie in the sailing.
Had a jolly walk today after a late breakfast - a short 4-ish mile circular around Beckley. Started off raining and Anna looked quite funny with her huge umbrella. Then cleared up and got lovely and warm, with lots of big puffy clouds in the sky. Just as we were about three-quarters of the way round though we heard a rumble and saw the huge dark clouds looming up ahead. 'Do we have to go through any open fields or under big, tall trees?' I asked. Nobody seemed that bothered, so we carried on - yes we found ourselves in a big wide open field as the lightning and thunder and rain started in earnest. We all bolted like anything to the end of the field - and sheltered up against a stone building as the rain pelted down. Had to carry on after that as it didn't look like it was stopping - as the thunder continually rumbled overhead.
Finally made it back to the car as soaked as I've ever been. Back to Sophie's for tea and a change of clothes before heading back home. Spotted this house with Olympic fever round the corner from our house.
Postscript: Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the history of the universe ever apparently. And another silver from Christine whose surname I can't spell.
nice Olympic fever shot! love the image of a "Bolt" across the field...very apt!! I was so cold and wet after this morning, but was good to get out and about rather than park up on the sofa ALL day!
Perfect flags & they look very patriotic hanging there. I put my flags away after the jubilee but might get them out again! Have vivid picture of you all running across that field.
I was wondering if I'd have to lie in a field with the dog on Sunday - decided I wasn't going to lie in a ditch unless it got really close - luckily it moved away. Splendid shot!
