Dave woke me early and said do I want to go for a drive to see the site he'll be taking students to work on felling and clearing trees later this week. I mumbled and grumbled a bit but after a quick breakfast was happy to go out into the lovely sunshiny morning.
Drove up to a spot in Lee Valley Park full of old gravel pits that are now prime wetlands for migrating birds - we stopped here in a quiet hide to take in the scenery and observe the two-minute silence.
Sun was definitely warmish - would have felt spring-like if it wasn't for all the colour: berries and leaves. And the remains of a frost were melting away as we walked.
Dave dropped me at the farmers' market on the way back for me to stock up. Should be off to the folk club later to see Emmanuelle Pariselle and Christian Maes which should be good.
We've officially swopped weather...you have my sky...it has not stopped thundering all day long...we may get washed out to sea at this rate! Beautiful berries (for whatever season you get blue sky in)! Sounds like a very pleasant day.
