Kerrie used to work for us a while back but she was only on a temporary contract so eventually had to leave us even though we'd have loved to keep her. Almost the next thing we knew, she was engaged to a guy she'd only known a little while. They're now happily married and living in California - where the sun (almost) always shines. Funnily, he's American and has spent almost his entire life there and she's British and has spent almost her entire life here, but they both originally come from the same small village in Vietnam - they met at a a family wedding. Anyway, a few of us had a nice little catch-up with her at lunchtime over a drink and chips and finally got to meet Hao.
A bit of excitement at work in the afternoon, when the police were called to investigate a suspect package and we had to vacate our desks. Apparently the package smelled funny. Maybe it was somebody's Stinking Bishop.
Then I went along after work to the London Forest Choir's Christmas concert in St Mary's church, which was very pleasant - even when the mayor got up to do a solo and turned out to have one of the scariest vibratos I've ever heard.
