Lots of good things to remember - a few things from my photo albums (best in large obviously):
Top left: the amazing torch holder thing. Don't know about you, but I was sniffling when it was extinguished.
Top right: supporters from around the world - these Hungarians watched their man win a swimming race in the Heineken bar outside the park and when the staff wouldn't turn up the sound so that they could hear the medal ceremony, they sung their national anthem themselves.
Middle left: the athletes, winners and losers - including one of the first female athletes to represent Saudi Arabia. She came last but was cheered to the rafters.
Middle middle: the amazing wildflowers planted all over the Olympic Park.
Middle right: the volunteers - this woman very kindly told me about the John Lewis viewing gallery so that our '365 go mad in Stratford' outing got great views of the park.
Bottom left: the Olympic Park full of interesting bits and pieces, a man gazes in wonder at the mirror above his head reflecting sunlight.
Bottom right: the great British public, happy to look silly at the drop of a patriotic hat.
Oh - I was feeling sad before this ...now I wish I could go back and do it again! And it sounds like I may have missed the boat with para tickets for the stadium...
waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! i'm going to cry now! Gutted it's all over...this morning just was not the same without the commentry on the tv....this is a great summary of the Games!
Oh definitely withdrawal symptoms today & I was sad when the torch went slowly out last night. Even up here in Lancashire we could feel the warmth & excitement from London, one of the several times I wished I lived nearer a bit of action. Thanks for all your great photos & commentaries all you lucky folks who managed to go & see things.
