Taken on the same day as the London 2012 victory parade a couple of weeks back. As I walked the back streets from the city to the National Portrait Gallery, I stumbled across Gough Square, home to Samuel Johnson's house and this delightful sculpture of his cat Hodge who he used to feed with oysters. Hodge is represented sitting on a copy of Johnson's famous dictionary together with a couple of oyster shells. Sculptor Jon Bickley 1997.
I think Rich Tyson may have alerted me to the existence of this a while back when we strolling near by, but he couldn't remember exactly where it was. Well I know now.
