No, not some strange alternative to toffee apples - this is the result of my attempt to burn the flat down - so that nobody else can have it mwah ha ha ....
Got up quite early today - well felt like it after all the food and drink last night. Helped out with the washing up, then had leftover fruit salad for breakfast before heading to catch the train home as had a few bits to do.
Stopped off at the farmers' market to stock up on veg, fruit, cheese, some sea bass for dinner and then popped into another pop-up shop to buy some florentines.
At home unpacked and started getting some lunch together. I put a saucepan of water on to boil my egg and left it to get going. A few minutes later, the smoke alarm went off - we both rushed to the kitchen which was foggy with smoke. I leapt for the carrier bags full of apples that I'd put on top of the hob - I'd turned on the wrong ring and the plastic had melted onto the hotplate and the apples got a touch charred ...
Then we headed to A406 storage land to pick up some of our camping equipment which we will be needing soon.
