A section of the Roman wall by Tower Hill - the lower bit between the thin red bricks is Roman, above is medieval.

Wow I love that Ayla....the age of the stone work & the effort of building that height with nothing but manual labour & no machines. How wonderful it's stil standing...they built things to last in those days!
